Artwork
My artistic style blends abstraction and mark making in a layered technique. I work on both paper and canvas in acrylic, oils and watercolor. My style is emergent from years of experience with drawing and painting still lives, landscapes, portraits and figures. I have been interested in art all my life, drawing portraits of my friends and family as a teen and taking a few classes in high school, eventually ending up at Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia, PA. and Arcadia University in Glenside, PA. It developed from a study of abstract artists and techniques in graduate school, including theories of automatic drawing.
My work is shaped by a feeling of connection to nature, a universal theory of oneness that connects all things and the human consciousness that allows us to create art in all its forms. It connects me both with the work and with the greater world outside my work.
